Drizzle it on! Paso’s mediterranean climate is great for growing wine grapes—why wouldn’t it be fabulous for growing olives, too? This is exactly what wise farmers banked on long ago, noting Paso’s consistently warm weather and ample sunshine. Today, you can still find great EVOO in Paso Robles (we’re not talking about that boring super market stuff, though). At Pasolivo, experience award-winning oils infused with rosemary, citrus, garlic—or go for a classic, single variety oil featuring grassy notes and a subtle peppery finish. We’re spirited around here! Yes, we do know how to have a good time in Paso Robles. Case in point: Krobar Distillery, Paso’s solution to boring, uninspired cocktails. Where’s the beef? Turns out it’s been hiding in Paso Robles all these years. Local meat is a specialty around here, where rolling grassy hillsides offer up natural fodder for premium cattle (it’s true, happy cows do come from California). Iron Oaks Winery knows a thing or two about a quality cut: in fact, you can pick up a few pounds of local, pasture-raised beef at this fun-loving Paso tasting room. Plus, Oso Libre and Rangeland wineries offer up their own incredible estate-raised meats made to melt in your mouth. Fire up the grill and pop that cork! It’s barbecue time.

You’re never far from your next great nibble. By now, you know that Paso Robles is chock full of incredible restaurants. But did you know that several local wineries also serve up serious food alongside those fabulous wines? You can expect more than a humble cheese plate at Parrish Family Vineyard, where the seasonal menu features house made sourdough just begging to be dipped in a rich fig and olive tapenade (also on the menu: a refreshing soba noodle salad, seasonal flatbreads and macarons for dessert). Never reach for a bowl of dry tasting room crackers again. I mean, why would you?
