Whether you attend the official Paso Wine Fest grand tasting and marquee offerings held at the Paso Robles Event Center or explore the myriad of events unfolding across approx. 300 wineries, you’re sure to come away with a one-of-a-kind wine experience. Take a bite out of Spring at Villa San-Juliette
Spring craving: This Paso Wine Fest Weekend, lounge on the Tuscan-styled VSJ patio, where friendly service and fabulous food are backdropped by a truly stunning landscape. With a stellar spring menu bursting with fresh flavors, you can nosh on a grilled baby Romaine Cesar salad topped with rosemary croutons, arugula-chicken sandwich laden with a farm fresh egg or fresh clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops swimming in a white wine tomato sauce (don’t forget the garlic bread!). Plant yourself at Derby Wine Estates
Green goals: Celebrate Paso Wine Fest at Derby Wine Estates and you’ll finally earn that green thumb. Located downtown in a historic building, enjoy oodles of ambiance while you grow, sip and swirl. Back by popular demand, the winery’s Succulent Soiree returns Thursday, May 19: Design and plant your own succulent terrarium, with pots, plants, and a plethora of decorative options provided (event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.). But wait—there’s more! On Friday, May 20, get ready to kick up your heels to live music paired with Southern barbecue rolling out from 8 to 9 p.m. Savor the savory down-home flavors of Hungry Mother Food Truck, sample delicious wine and generally have yourself a darn good time!
Sparkle on at Still Waters Vineyards
Shake it up: No troubles, just bubbles, baby! On Friday, May 20, join winemaker Paul of Still Waters Vineyards—along with four other illustrious local winemakers—for a tasting of Paso sparkling offerings paired with gourmet bites (tasting hosted at Still Waters Vineyards from 4 to 5:30 p.m.). Drooling for more? On Saturday, May 21 from 5 to 7 p.m., you’re in for a fun-filled evening of wine and live music with tunes provided by Americana powerhouse Julie Beaver and her band Rockin’ Bs Trio. Next up: wind down a whirlwind weekend with a chill table side tasting at the Still Waters Garden on Sunday, May 22. Welp. It looks like your calendar just filled up!
Park it at Locatelli Vineyards
You had me at panini: Got a hankering for melty-gooey goodness paired with awesomely drinkable wines? Head to Locatelli for Paso Wine Fest Weekend, when the winery will serve homemade turkey, cranberry and brie paninis paired with their famous five estate blends and superb single-varietal offerings. While the sandwiches will flow all weekend long, you’ll need to stop by Locatelli on Friday, May 20 to catch live music by emerging artist Lindsey Marie. Plus, on Sunday, May 22, the winery presents the neo-folk stylings of Easton Everett (music kicks off from 1 to 4 p.m. both days). Got an RV? Dry camp at the winery and enjoy the breathtaking rural scenery and festive atmosphere from sunrise to sunset.
Roll up your sleeves at CASS Winery
See food; eat it: Better fast for a few hours before you head to CASS Winery this Paso Wine Weekend. Why? Well, their onsite chef is hosting an epic seafood boil on Saturday, May 21 that promises to have you feeling ultra-satiated! Unfolding on the winery’s barrel room veranda at 6:30 p.m., you’ll take in a legendary Paso sunset overlooking the winery’s vineyard all while digging into more shellfish than you can shake an oyster fork at. Plus, each course will be paired with classic CASS wines for maximum yum! Note: Can’t make Saturday, but love robust reds? Head to Cass Sunday, May 22 for a lively vertical tasting that includes killer estate cabernet sauvignon served alongside distinguished Paso Robles area selections.
