May flowers, spring wines and blue skies—May in Paso Robles Wine Country is pretty darn close to heaven on earth! Enjoy this blissful month in style when you explore nearly 300 tasting rooms, flavorful dinners and rockin’ entertainment all centered around our favorite thing: wine!
Enjoy Downtown with Diablo Paso
Downtown dreaming: The hills of Paso are magical, but downtown holds its own sparkle, too! If you haven’t strolled downtown Paso Robles just yet, now is a great time. Walking distance to dozens of boutique shops, tasting rooms, art galleries and restaurants, you’ll never wonder what to do next. That said, whatever you do, be sure to head to Diablo Paso tasting room, located at 1220 Park Street in the heart of downtown. Yes, this warm and friendly hangout serves incredible Spanish wines paired alongside a bit of education and conversation. Ready to go now? Better hurry. Both kid and dog friendly, this small yet stylish tasting room is first-come-first-serve with its tastings (unless, of course, you’re a club member)!
Hit the deck at Jada
The art of doing nothing: Sometimes you just need to sprawl out in the sunshine and do—well—nothing! When the mood to lollygag strikes, head to Jada, where the back patio is sublime. What’s on the agenda? Not much, I can assure you. Enjoy a flight of six different Jada wines sourced from the winery’s all-estate Rhone and Bordeaux programs along with a cheese plate courtesy of Vivant Fine Cheese. Looking to host a splendid picnic this May? Check out the winery’s shaded outdoor “Oak Lounge,” which overlooks the estate vineyard and Westside Paso’s rolling hills. Somebody pinch you, you must be dreaming!
Dine well at Robert Hall Winery
Let’s eat: Want to kick lunch up a notch? In Paso Robles Wine Country, there’s never a boring meal. In fact, a delicious paired culinary experience awaits you at Robert Hall Winery this May! Available Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., experience the winery’s seasonal Cavern Select wines paired with tasty Chef-crafted creations. You’ll savor locally grown produce, incredible flavors, learn about the winemaking process, and enjoy five award-winning wines paired to perfection. Chef’s kiss, indeed!
Tour the Vineyard at Seven Oxen
Into the green: Could there be a better time of year for a vineyard tour? We think not. With mild, sunny days and miles of lush vines to stroll, you’ll breathe in our famously fresh air. Seven Oxen’s vineyard and winery tour doesn’t just bring you face to face with nature—you’ll also get to meet the winemaker, Bastien Leduc. Enjoy an educational walk through the winery’s organically farmed estate vineyard and sweeping views along the ridge of this breathtaking 130-acre property. Next, take a trip to the tasting room, where an exclusive barrel sample awaits! Sounds like a perfect day to us, too.
Get Down at Tooth and Nail
Boogie down: In Paso Robles Wine Country, it’s not all about fancy dinners. We know how to have fun, too! Tooth and Nail’s Friday live music events are locally famous for a reason. The combination of music, flavor and ambiance is downright dizzying! From 5-9 p.m. each Friday, head to the Paso Robles castle for a taste of all this and more. On May 20, catch Sachin and The Porch, a local country artist known for blending twang and rock into one feel-good vibe. Explore the castle, sample a range of top notch wines, and nosh on small plates, too! Kind of makes us want to kick up our heels and yell “yeehaw!”
