Summer ain’t over yet! Savor every last drop in Paso Robles Wine Country, where August events are heating up now. Hungry for a unique food and wine experience? From gourmet winemaker dinners in the vineyard to barbecued burgers under the stars, you’ll find plenty of peak season deliciousness to devour. But wait, there’s more! Shimmy and shake to live music, one of our favorite ways to pass those hot summer nights. Love surprises, too? You’ve come to the right place. In Paso Robles Wine Country, our summer fun tends to roll on till the cows come home.
Robert Hall – Second Sunday Music
Sunday kind of love: At Robert Hall, good taste flows everywhere: from your glass to your ears. This summer, savor the winery’s Second Sunday Music events, where you can enjoy live music under the olive trees. Sunday, Aug. 14 brings local artist Chris Campo, known for his smooth acoustic stylings and uniquely pleasing vocals. Held from noon to 3 p.m., you can also chow down food courtesy of the winery’s a la carte lunch menu. Sip a glass or share a bottle with friends—Summer afternoons in Paso are meant to be celebrated.
Bella Luna – Paint and Sip
Wine imitating art: Feeling less than inspired lately? Allow your inner artist to play with all the colors of the rainbow at Bella Luna’s Paint and Sip soiree, slated for Aug. 20 at the friendly Paso Robles tasting room. Even if you’re someone who considers doodling a creative practice, you’re sure to take away a few new tips. From 6 to 8 p.m., you’ll actually create your own sunset vineyard painting (with a little help from ArtSocial805, who are on-hand to guide your brush). The ticket covers all the art supplies—and delicious wine—you need to jump-start your creativity.
Four Lanterns – Free Live Music Saturdays
Meet me on the lawn: Known for its sprawling green surroundings, time spent at Four Lanterns becomes even dreamier when live music gets thrown into the mix. Order a glass or bottle and spread out your picnic basket: The winery’s Free Live Music Saturdays kick off all summer long from 1-4 p.m.! Need a snack? Don’t worry—they’ve got you covered. Upcoming concerts include Tracy Morgan on August 13, Kevin Graybill on August 20 and Emily Smith on August 27. As if that weren’t enough live music, you can also get your groove on after hours with the winery’s Sunday Summer Concert Series, held select dates 5 to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy flowing wine offerings plus food pairings all wrapped in gorgeous sunset views. The best part? Both events are kid and dog friendly, so everyone can enjoy this waking dream.
Harmony Cellars – Winemaker Dinners
Spice up your life: Ready to dine on the patio, the Paso Wine Country way? On August 17, make room for a multi-course Spanish themed dinner sure to get your blood pumping. Prepared by Harmony Cellars Chef John McDevitt, you’ll nibble three fabulous courses, including Croquettes de Jamon Serrano, Galician Mussels, Chorizo and Manchego Crostini, Brochetas de Gambas, Spanish Rice, Romesco and chargrilled Moorish lamb skewers and so much more (held 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the tasting room). While these colorful flavors sing in your mouth, a lineup of freshly chilled wines and robust reds will splash into your glass, providing the perfect balance of culinary harmony.
Donati Spirits – Citrine Vodka Release
Straight up awesome: In Paso Wine Country, you should always expect the unexpected. You might know Westside winery room Donati for its supremely drinkable wines, but did you know that the scenic tasting room enjoys a cocktail every now and then? On August 12-14, partake in a truly swanky affair as the Distillery Trail Weekend swings through with cocktail shakers a-crackin’. Enjoy Donati Spirits’ newest release: a citrine vodka with zest to spare. Refreshing? Oh yes, indeed! Pair that cool drink with tasting room bottle specials, and you’ve got yourself a real reason to call this one “happier hour.”
