Cabin fever is a harsh mistress, eh? If your solo daily dog walk or weekly socially-distanced bicycle ride to the park isn’t quite enough to cut your craving for adventure, why not take a virtual tour outside your homebound routine? In fact, the New York Times recently named Paso Robles Wine Country as a must-see on its “52 Places to Virtually Go” List.
Alongside such breathtaking wonders as Washington, D.C.’s cherry blossoms, Tokyo’s bustling street markets and Egypt’s pyramids, you’ll find virtual tours of Paso Robles Wine Country tasting rooms (courtesy of this humble website, we might add). Want to explore the land of rolling green vineyards and friendly wine tasting rooms for yourself? The wait ends now. Here are 5 virtual tasting room tours to keep you on your toes—even if you haven’t changed out of your slippers in a few days.
1. Brecon Estate
Boutique beauty: Nestled in the westside hills of Paso Robles (so green right now), Brecon Estate is ground zero for a truly handcrafted boutique wine experience. You may not be able to greet Welsh Winemaker Damian Grindley (who has crafted some of the most highly awarded wines across the United States, Australia, and Europe) yourself, but you can tour the grounds with a virtual tour. “Stroll” through the modern tasting room before stepping out onto a sunny deck affording vibrant vineyard views. You can almost hear the birds chirping!

2. Chronic Cellars
Laid back hangout: Paso Robles winemakers and avid surfers Jake and Josh Beckett know how to have a good time while making fine wine. “the chronic,” roughly translated by the brothers, means: “the good stuff.” Oh, yes, this wine is good stuff, indeed! Raised in the heart of wine country, the guys aimed at creating an elevated wine brand that didn’t harsh the mellow of Central Coast living. Check out the fun-loving tasting room for yourself: tour the chill, no-frills bar and take note of the corn hole and lawn games out back. Sure feels good to “stretch” your legs, doesn’t it?

3. Eberle Winery
Become a cave explorer: Known as a winemaking pioneer of Paso Robles Wine Country, Gary Eberle made history with his 1979 Eberle Cabernet Sauvignon. Now, experience the legendary tasting room without leaving your kitchen table. A cozy, wood-paneled bar and a vast deck for mingling make this tasting room a picturesque Paso stop. The real excitement comes when you click along a dimly lit underground path through Eberle’s iconic wine caves. Follow the barrels and count the days until you can traverse the 16,000 square foot subterranean space in real life. Yes, they do host parties down there and you are invited!

4. Hearst Ranch Winery
Keys to the castle: Sound agricultural practices, impeccable winemaking and the philanthropic involvement of Steve Hearst and Jim Saunders have come together to create a truly special wine offering emblazoned with a world famous name (yes, we’re talking about that Hearst). With fruit sourced from some of the finest vineyards on the Central Coast, Heart Ranch aims to create a legacy of quality synonymous with the Hearst tradition. With two tasting rooms—one near Hearst Castle in San Simeon; the other in Paso Robles—there’s no excuse not to take a peek. Point your mouse toward the latter, which features an impressive barrel room and an expansive, sun dappled veranda.

5. JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery
Go gourmet: JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery broke ground on their very first vineyard back in 1981 with a mission to make world-class Bordeaux-style blends. Since then, this historic winery has expanded with a restaurant and inn. Want to dream about your next romantic vacay? It’s only a click away! Take in stunning vineyard views from their revamped tasting room in the heart of Paso’s Adelaida District AVA. Extra credit: Heighten your virtual tour experience with a DIY cheese plate. Sure, it won’t be as fancy as the one a JUSTIN tasting room attendant would whip up, but hey. We’re all doing the best we can.
