The story of Pear Valley Estate
The story of Pear Valley Estate began in the picturesque vineyards of Germany, where Tom Maas, the founder, was stationed in the army during the late ’60s. It was here, amidst the rolling vineyards, that his love for wine and viticulture blossomed. This dream was nurtured over the years and came to fruition in 1999 with the acquisition of 20 acres in Paso Robles. Today, under the stewardship of Kathleen, the winery has expanded to 113 acres dedicated to the cultivation of premium grapes, guided by sustainable farming practices to ensure the health of the land and the quality of the harvest.
In the spring of 2008, Pear Valley Winery embarked on a new chapter with the construction of a 14,000 square foot winery and a 5,000 square foot tasting room. Designed in collaboration with PG&E’s “Savings By Design” program, these facilities are a testament to the winery’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, providing an inviting space for guests to savor the fruits of Pear Valley’s labor in a setting that is both beautiful and eco-conscious.
