Where French winemaking tradition meets California’s organic farming innovation, Seven Oxen Estate Wines crafts distinctively elegant Rhône and Zinfandel wines from their CCOF certified organic vineyard in Paso Robles.
Founded by Adriana Neal and French winemaker Bastien Leduc, this family-owned estate winery combines old-world techniques with a deep commitment to sustainable viticulture, producing small-lot wines that authentically express the unique terroir of the Templeton Gap and Willow Creek sub-AVAs.
The Experience:
Seven Oxen Estate Wines invites visitors to discover thoughtfully crafted wines at their welcoming tasting room located just off Highway 101 near the vibrant Tin City area. The intimate tasting room provides the perfect setting to explore their portfolio of estate-grown Rhône varietals and Zinfandel, all produced from their tranquil 130-acre westside Paso Robles property.
During your visit, guests can sample single-varietal wines including Grenache, Mourvèdre, Tannat, Petite Sirah, and Zinfandel, along with their signature Rhône blend called Cassidy, which showcases the bright fruit-forward character of 65 percent dry-farmed Grenache blended with 35 percent Mourvèdre.
What Makes It Special:
Seven Oxen Estate Wines stands apart as one of Paso Robles’ premier organic wineries, with their entire 26-acre vineyard certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers since taking ownership in 2011.
Located in the limestone-rich rolling hills where the Templeton Gap meets the Willow Creek district, the estate benefits from cooling Pacific Ocean breezes that sweep across the southwest-facing slopes each evening, creating ideal conditions for maintaining balanced acidity in the grapes despite Paso Robles’ intense summer heat.
Winemaker and vineyard manager Bastien Leduc employs both innovative and traditional French techniques, including head-training and spur-pruning methods, dry-farming select blocks, and practicing biodynamic principles to ensure vine health and longevity. The winery’s minimalist approach in the cellar allows the unique character of the limestone soils and maritime-influenced climate to shine through in every bottle.
Seven Oxen even produces a limited-edition estate brandy, double-distilled from their Zinfandel grapes and aged in neutral French oak.
