Today I popped into Burbank Ranch Winery and Bistro located in downtown Paso Robles on Park Street. I had the pleasure to speak with one of the owners, Melody Burbank, who was kind enough to show me around impromptu. They have a low key bistro, great chef and a wine tasting bar in a pleasant space. I remarked to Melody that I love the fact that they expertly pair food with wine. She cracked a smile and guided me over to a sign perched on the corner of their wine bar. On it is displayed a quote from a winemaker – Fred Burbank, her husband, that reads “No winemaker ever set out to craft a wine that pairs well with oyster crackers”. It’s simple brilliance. So if you want more than oyster crackers with your wine tasting experience, Burbank Ranch Winery and Bistro should be on your list of places to visit when you come to Paso Robles. They are currently open Tuesday-Saturday 11am to 6pm for lunch and early dinners, wine flight tasting and of course wine tasting paired with food. Cheers!
