Spooky Halloween Fun in Paso

Admit it. Candy corn sucks. This Halloween, let’s raise a glass to the kind of “treat” most adults would gladly go door-to-door for: Paso Robles Wine! Dress to Impress at Tooth and Nail Winery

Oct. 27 & 28 // 8pm – midnight (VIPS enter early at 7 p.m.)

It’s nearly time for the first ever Halloween Harvest Ball at Tooth and Nail Winery! Grab your costume and make a beeline for Paso’s very own haunted castle. Located off Highway 46 West, this scary setting will be decked out to the max (fog machine, creepy decorations, interactive props, dramatic lighting, magician), so you should be to. A simple mask won’t do it for this party: Come head-to-toe in your favorite Halloween costume or you won’t be allowed inside! How’s that for dedication?

Those who take on the spirit of the holiday with gusto will be rewarded handsomely: As guests enter the castle, they will be met with light bites and sweet treats provided by local area favorite eateries. The tasting room will be exclusively reserved for VIPs and transformed into an apothecary, where wine by the glass is for sale (after the first complementary VIP glass), as well as tableside service, horror d’oeurves and sweet treats. The winery’s Amor Fati Room will be converted to a Disco Inferno drenched in red illuminated light and pulsating DJ Dance and Light Party and will also serve as the venue for the costume contest with $2500 in prizes awarded.

Pick Pumpkins Between Tastings

If you’re planning on wine tasting through Paso Wine Country this time of year, you’d be remiss to pass by the area’s amazing selection of pumpkin patches!

Pick the best gourd for your party or porch at River K Pumpkin Farm, San Marcos Ranch, or Chesebrough Farm. A local favorite—Jack Creek Farms—is a great place to find whimsical storybook pumpkins unlike any other. Plus, this picture perfect patch is located off Highway 46 West, home to not just Tooth and Nail, but also Four Lanterns Winery and Jada Winery, both fabulous locations for a pre (or post) pumpkin picking picnic.

Goodie! Four Lanterns Winery will host a wine and cheese tasting event this Oct. 20 from 6 to 8pm, which is just fine by us (candy is great, but nothing can compare to the stinky stuff). Featuring a delicious lineup of gourmet cheeses from Fromagerie Sophie in San Luis Obispo, you are invited to scream with delight. Note: A Harvest Winemaker Dinner is also slated for Oct. 21 from 6 to 9pm featuring farm fresh food by Fig.

Explore Your Wild Side at Eberle, Hearst Ranch, Lusso Della Terra, and Rendarrio Oct. 28

Go where the wild things are! Get your Passport stamped this Halloween season without leaving the pleasures of Paso Robles Wine Country. One passport signs you up for a truly unique self-guided adventure filled with howls, grunts, and snarls.

Expect exotic animals at select tasting rooms (noon to 4pm), free wine tasting, and poker (well, sort of). Here’s how it works: Visit at least five participating Highway 46 East wineries, get your Passport stamped and draw a playing card to build your best poker hand. The top three hands will win awesome prizes, including wine and hotel packages!
