Paso Robles Wineries Last Minute Best Wine Finds for the Holidays!

So it’s almost that time!  Just a few days away and it will be one of the most celebrated holidays of the year!  Wine as we all know, is an excellent gift.  For the people we care about, for acquaintances, for pretty much anyone that likes to drink…and for ourselves of course!  For every meal we cook…even breakfast loves a good sparkling mimosa now and again.  Here are some of our last minute best wines for the holidays just in time for sharing.

1. Opolo 2012 Reserve Zinfandel

This blend of Zinfandel was selected by our owners and winemakers as their own small lot.  This is a “big” Zinfandel, yet elegant at the same time.  Bold fruit flavors and just the right amount of barrel aging make it enjoyablepaso robles wineries wine for anytime.  Ripe blackberry and plum are complimented by notes of cinnamon and cedar.  Rich black fruit framed by firm tannins lead to a wonderfully complex and satisfying finish.  The 2012 Reserve Zinfandel pairs excellently with Brazilian spiced flank steak or barbequed pork ribs.

2. August Ridge 2009 Jovial

A classic Super Tuscan styled wine with sour cherry and strawberry aromas and tastes of black cherry, plum, cassis and pepper.  Bright acids and strong tannins extend the flavors into a long, palate cleansing Paso Robles Wineriesfinish.  Complements hearty, robust foods from pizza to osso bucco to sharp aged cheeses.  Decant, serve and enjoy.

3. HammerSky Party of Four

A deep daPaso Robles Wineriesrk brick red, and the nose is an amazing array of black fruit, plum, leather, and spice.  Remarkably well balanced and elegant flavors of cassis, dried herbs, super ripe plum, and earth almost overwhelm the palate.  As the finish lingers for an eternity, all ou can think of is taking another sip.  Pair with anything you want to taste amazing, as the wine will complement any dish!
