Derby Wine Estate is a boutique, family owned winery with three Estate vineyards across the central coast and a Tasting Room & production facility on the outskirts of downtown Paso Robles.
They have a passion for good wine and good company, and strive to share both with everyone who walks through their door.
Ray and Pam Derby retired to the Central Coast in the early 1990’s, and began to grow and sell grapes from their 3 Estate Vineyards in San Luis Obispo County. After a few years as a grape grower, Ray saw the potential of having fruit in 3 different AVA’s and set out to build an Estate brand that showcased the diversity of the growing regions within the Central Coast.
The Derby’s then bought the historic Almond Growers Building in Paso Robles in 2010. Four years later they celebrated the grand opening of Derby Wine Estates’ Production Facility and Tasting Room in this iconic landmark.
Each year they take about 30 acres of fruit from the vineyards to produce their Estate wines, and sell the rest (over 400 acres) to other local wineries.
Derby Wine Estates is open for wine tasting every day from 11am-5pm, and offer tours of the building by reservation.
