Taste of time travel: Weary of today’s relentless hustle and bustle? Eleven Twenty Two Cocktail Lounge has one foot firmly planted in bygone ’30s charm. This swanky downtown Paso speakeasy doesn’t just offer up craft cocktails to die for, it’s our best kept wine country secret! Savor select spirits—and fine local wines procured from Paso Wineries—all washed in the romance of a candlelight glow. Imagine bartenders shaking up drinks, hushed chatter from delighted patrons and festive music of the Great Gatsby era (swoon!). Plus, there’s no password required: The speakeasy is located on the back patio of Pappy McGregor’s in downtown Paso. Once inside Pappy’s, continue through the dining area and exit out the rear patio, turn left, then once at the door. Next ring the doorbell and await your turn to travel back in time.

In fact, some of our favorite places to spend a few hours sipping and swirling are nestled among the great outdoors (birds, bees and butterflies included). Spend a chill summer afternoon at Dubost Wines and you’ll see what we mean: surrounded by majestic oak trees and gorgeous wildflowers, you’ll soak up our famous combo of warm sun, blue skies and fresh air. Ready for a real treat? Stop by the tasting room Saturday and Sunday for gourmet wood-fired pizzas topped with elevated ingredients like caramelized onions, gouda cheese, prosciutto and balsamic drizzle—to name just a few. Whether you pair this Italian delicacy with Dubost’s white, red or mixed wine flight, you’re sure to appreciate the understated elegance that makes an al fresco dinner in Paso so darn magical.
Coastal cool: Not every Paso tasting room boasts a view like this! Overlooking the tiny coastal hamlet of Harmony (population 18, if you count the cows) Harmony Cellars combines storybook charm with seriously great wines and a jam-packed summer calendar.
