Huzzah! It’s time for Paso Wine Fest May 19-21! The four-day celebration of Paso Robles Wine is now in its 36th year—can you believe it? The years have flown by, and, meanwhile, Paso Robles has become more and more prestigious as a wine region known round the world. However, that doesn’t mean the area has lost any of its casual, laid back charm. Whether you head to the bustling grand tasting in Downtown City Park or prefer to flutter around to a range of different spots, don’t miss this magical time in Paso Robles. This is the best time to discover how small town magic meets world class wine!
Burgers on deck! Meet up at Oso Libre for a special Estate Angus Barbecue this Saturday, May 19 from noon to 3 p.m. Get your hands on oak-grilled burgers made from the winery’s onsite herd topped with cave-aged gruyere, caramelized onions, whole-grain mustard aioli, and organic field greens topped with a fresh brioche bun. Of course, all of this meaty goodness is only made more mouthwatering alongside delicious wines.
Wine Fest weekend doesn’t have to be non-stop action. Take a moment to breathe in and veg out. This Friday, May 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., unwind and relax with a night under the stars at The Fig at Courtney’s House restaurant in scenic Templeton (we suggest you purchase tickets ahead of time). Clavo Cellars will pour five wines paired alongside five prefectly crafted small plates. Yes, you can embark on a guided tasting journey set within a luxurious backyard garden (without moving your rear end).
Want to pick the brain of a longtime Paso Robles winemaker? Easy, make a reservation! On Sunday, May 20 from 11:00 to 3 p.m., allow Cass Winemaker, Steve Cass, to pour you some wine while you enjoy a free guided tour through the vineyards (keep the glass, of course). After a leisurely stroll packed with winemaking know-how, you’ll be invited to kick up your feet while being serenaded by Nataly Lola’s rock n roll band. Feeling peckish? Lunch is served onsite.
Ranching and red wine? This is common in Paso Robles, where cowboy boots and barrels collide. Slide right into Rangeland on Saturday, May 19 for a delightful lunch that reflects the terroir of Paso Robles in a truly unique way. Devour estate grass-fed beef sliders from noon to 3 p.m. and learn about the incredible, sustainable farm where the cattle graze.
Want an exclusive taste of Paso Robles? Make reservations and swing by Hoyt Family Vineyards for a special reserve pouring this Friday, May 18, featuring select wines you won’t try anywhere else. On May 20, attend the winery’s open house and see why Hoyt’s been named “Micro Winery of the Year.” Play with onsite goats, bring the dog, enjoy the breathtaking view, and generally savor Wine Fest weekend in laid back style.
