So you fancy yourself a wine buff? We don’t doubt that. If you’re a lover of fine wine—especially the fresh, exciting New World styles that garner so much buzz in sunny California—you’ve no doubt already caught wind of the world class, award-winning wines that have been coming out of Paso Robles over the past few decades. Heard good things but not too sure why we’re such hot stuff? No worries! Allow us to let you in on the not-so-secret joys of Paso Robles Wine Country. Hey, we all have our blind spots!
We’re humble yet mighty
Sure, we pride ourselves on our down-home vibe and warm, country hospitality, but that doesn’t mean we’re a blip on the map. Paso Robles Wine Country is home to more than 11 viticultural regions (amounting to about 614,000 acres of vineyards) and approximately 250 wineries crafting hundreds of varietals, including hard-to-find and unique offerings. From mom and pop tasting rooms where you can meet the winemaker to opulent outdoor verandas surrounded by breathtaking vineyard views, we truly are a wine lover’s paradise.
Join the club: With world-renowned craftsmanship and a sophisticated offerings, JUSTIN represents Paso Robles Winery’s polished (yet still approachable) personality. Since planting their first vineyards in 1981 with the aim to create world-class Bordeaux-style blends, JUSTIN has wowed critics, dazzled fans and elevated the region to new heights. We’re more than sunshine
When you think about Paso Robles Wine Country, located on the California coast between L.A. to the south and San Francisco to the north, you probably think of one thing: bountiful sunshine. Yes, we have an extremely temperate, year long growing season that allows our grapes to ripen to stellar results. However, from day to day and morning to night, temperature can swing wildly. With a greater day-to-night temperature swing than any other appellation in the sunshine state—coupled with countless unique microclimates and dynamic soil types—Paso Robles wines can vary dramatically from vineyard to vineyard. That means more than just one flavor in your glass.
Taste the terroir: Bodega de Edgar knows a thing or two about playing with vineyard selections and microclimates. Sample the winery’s rich, chocolatey 2013 Toro de Paso, which features tempranillo from both Letitia vineyard and Stanger Vineyard blended with Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and merlot from three other area vineyard locations. That’s a total of four celebrated vineyards showcased in one bottle! Shop vineyard vibes, click here to shop at Bodega de Edgar

We dare to be different
One thing’s for sure: They truly broke the mold when they made Paso Robles! We’re home to more than 60 wine grape varieties, ranging from cabernet sauvignon and merlot to syrah, viognier and roussanne, to zinfandel, our heritage grape. But did you know we’re also known the world over for bold blends that buck the status quo? From day one, Paso Robles winemakers have been a little more daring than the average bear, always willing to risk it all for one totally one-of-a-kind bottle.
Go bold: Unique, exciting blends are always on the roster at Brecon Estate. We recommend the winery’s many fearless blends, including a surprising zinfandel/tannat and superbly integrated syrah/viognier. As explorers at heart, these folks are known to take the path less traveled! How about you? Shop bold blends, click here to shop at Brecon
