Kayak Tour – Saturday, September 23rd – 9.30 a.m.
The Lunch on the Dunes trip is possibly one of California’s most unique kayak trips. Kayaking through the wildlife-filled waters of Morro Bay in the morning and then having a gourmet picnic lunch on the pristine dunes at midday is truly a memorable experience. After launching, our exact kayaking route may vary depending on tides and recent wildlife activity but includes possible visits to a seal haul-out area, a heron rookery, an oyster farm, and chances to see otters. Later in the morning, we beach our kayaks on a secluded part of the dunes. Here you will be greeted with a glass of Lone Madrone wine. Digging your toes in the sand, you can enjoy this magical environment or briefly climb over the dunes to stunning ocean views up and down miles of isolated beach. Back on the bay side of the dunes, you’ll linger a while longer for a gourmet picnic lunch and a selection of our favorite Lone Madrone wines. After Lunch, a short paddle across the bay brings you back to the docks.
This tour is suitable for experienced and beginner Kayakers.
