Forks ready? Fall in Paso Robles Wine Country is all about the eats. From cozy candle-lit dinners plated to perfection to freshly-grown farmer’s market produce, there’s always an unexpected flavor to savor. This autumn, enjoy local olive oil, farm-to-table menus and brunchable munchables that’ll have you singing “seconds, please!” Hungry for more? Here’s your chance to nibble and nosh your way through Paso’s most fabulous foodie delights. What can we say…we never met an elastic waistband we didn’t like.
Try Olive Oil Tasting
All oiled up and ready to go: Never been olive oil tasting before? Well, you’re in for a real treat. Think wine tasting, just swap the wine for EVOO. Whether you like yours grassy, buttery or with a hint of cracked pepper zestiness, you’ll fall in love with this lesser-known Paso Robles-grown crop. At Pasolivo, the oils are always fresh (and there’s a zillion ways to enjoy them). Fall is the perfect time of year to drizzle a bit of luscious goodness over braised meats, hearty salads and roasted veggies. Dunk your bread at the Pasolivo tasting room and find your next obsession, whether it be classic, citrus, or herb-forward. Did we mention these make awesome holiday gifts, too?

Stroll the Farmer’s Market
Greet the growers: Ever wanted to thank the hand that fed you? The Paso Robles Farmer’s Market is where you can do just that. Not only are the stalls full of colorful produce this time of year, but you’ll find lots of surprises too (honey, jams and specialty finishing salts, oh my). Held Tuesday mornings at the south side of Downtown Square, you’ll find a cornucopia of rich fall flavors all within walking distance of local wine tasting rooms. Savor seasonal produce, grass-raised beef, farm fresh eggs and unique prepared food items all sold by the folks who raised them. What’s next? Diablo Paso, nestled on Park Street nearby, is a casual dog and family-friendly tasting room that’s just perfect for relaxing after your shopping trip. What a chore, right?
Feast on Fall Menus
Ordering up autumn: It’s no wonder why we’re always drooling come fall (aka harvest). Aside from all the exciting new wines on the horizon, you’ll find creative seasonal menus springing up all over Paso’s thriving downtown dining scene. This time of year, it’s all about reserving a seat at Thomas Hill Organics, ground zero for farm-to-table fare paired with world class wines. They know what they’re doing, folks: This beloved downtown Paso eatery has been serving up vibrant dishes for over a decade with an emphasis on organic produce and natural, grass-fed meats. This autumn, you might try the Hippie Bowl featuring caramelized roasted veggies, the juicy duck breast paired with earthy local mushrooms or steak served with a gorgeous broccolini salad. And they say the changing of the leaves is exciting! If you ask us, this is so much better.
Cozy up to a Winemaker Dinner
Winemaker’s welcome: In order to really experience this magical time in Paso Wine Country, you must attend at least one lavish fall winemaker dinner. Sorry, it’s a rule, OK? I mean, if a gorgeous table setting, exclusive wines and intimate vibes make for your kind of date night, why not plan to attend one of this season’s anticipated feasts? Robert Hall Winery’s Cabernet in the Cavern Winemaker Dinner promises to be a smash hit, for sure. Hosted at the winery on Saturday, Nov. 12, you’ll enjoy a four-course dinner paired with white and red wines selected by Chef Michael Learned. Dig into winter squash and tender beef tenderloin (served two ways) with all the gourmet fixings you could dream of. Needless to say, skip lunch—and maybe even breakfast—the day of.
Rise for Brunch
Wine o’clock: Brisk fall mornings become epic, sunny afternoons in Paso Robles Wine Country. As you might have already guessed, we do brunch a little differently than the rest! Stop by Tooth and Nail Winery, Paso’s resident gothic castle, for a show stopping Sunday brunch sure to get everyone’s glasses clinking. Served all day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., expect the unexpected: aside from your favorite cheese and charcuterie, you’ll also find fried brussels sprouts, breakfast salads, croissants, a fried soft shell crab sandwich and even a green chile pork bowl topped with egg. Sunny side up, indeed!
