Wine Trail Traveling up the 101 Highway | Best Spots

You made it!  You followed the 101 up to our happy wine country in Paso Robles, California!  If you took the route from our previous blog then you have already tasted and savored many of the great places on the Central Coast.  Now you are here and you need to know the best places to stop near the 101 highway as you keep traveling.  Well you are in luck!  We have some great wineries and hotels for you to relax in, so check it out…

1. First you need to check into your hotel because they fill up fast.  Here are our top 5 suggestions to give you some variety and to make sure you find a warm bed!

>>>>La Bellasera Hotel

La Bellasera is right off of the 101 and has luxurious packages, superior suites, a wine cellar, a spa, gift shop, pool and hot tub, a fireside cabana, dining and great service only minutes from downtown and wine country.

>>>>The Adelaide Inn

Adelaide Inn is a homey place right off of the 101 and has beautiful landscaping, new beds, clean and beautiful rooms, a large swimming pool and continental breakfast.

>>>>Rancho Dos Amantes

This ranch offers you your own little house with beautiful and peaceful surroundings.  You are able to truly feel at home with a spacious casita, a farm fresh continental breakfast and a true getaway.  This is a little further off of the 101 but if you have the extra 20 minutes it is worth it!

>>>>The Inn at Opolo Vineyards

Stay right in wine country at the Inn at Opolo Vineyards.  Only ten minutes from the 101 you will be deep in the vines, with patio access, a Mediterranean kitchen, outdoor eating area, luxurious linens, fireplace and jetted tub, with wine tasting and vineyard trails just steps away. On the weekends they serve fire roasted pizzas and other fine foods with their wines!

Enjoy a peaceful nights sleep in your own three bedroom farmhouse! Have it all with a big kitchen, great space, the vineyards as your backdrop and only steps away from HammerSky winery for tasting, events and beautiful gardens.

 

2. Next you will need to find some great wineries to go tasting at!  If you stay at the later two places we just mentioned you will be very happy with both Opolo and HammerSky award winning wines!

>>>>Pelletiere Winery

This new addition to the Paso Robles area has delicious Italian varietals and is located on a beautiful piece of property.  Not far from the 101 on Township road, this winery is a great place to try out some reds and whites.  Don’t miss the 2012 Montepulciano with its deep cherry notes and crimson color! BONUS…They ALSO have a well appointed 3 bedroom farmhouse that you can stay in!

>>>>Lusso Della Terra

This winery is right downtown on 13th street in Paso Robles.  You will be within walking distance of many other spots you can check out including Arroyo Robles Winery not even 10 minutes away.  Enjoy their reds, rose’ and white varietals, enjoy their cheese pairings and make sure to stop in when they have live music.

>>>>Peachy Canyon

This winery is about 5 minutes from the 101 and is loaded with award winning wines.  Try the ‘Incredible Red’ or any other wine here and you will be dazzled.  A great place for lounging, they have a gazebo, a picnic area, a great gift shop and some fun wine accessories.

>>>>Four Lanterns

Just down the road from Peachy is Four Lanterns that has a great space for wine tasting!  They have a big grass area, a fire pit, a big open wine bar and many tasty wines!  Try some of their great pistachios in-between tastings! You must try the rose’, the reds and the whites, there are so many unique grapes in them.

>>>>Bodega de Edgar

Heading a bit north right off of the 101 about 5 minutes East is Bodega de Edgar in a cool little swanky tasting room.  Boasting reds and whites the wines here are earthy and bold, with family love put into every bottle.  Try the 2011 Toro de Paso!
