We started with a great wine trail for dog lovers and we have had more requests for dog friendly wine tasting trails. We are adding in some dog friendly restaurants in Paso Robles, CA as well as a place that does dog wine trail tasting tours for you with a designated driver and even pet clean up service! Your furry buddies are going to be so happy to share the rolling vineyard hills, the fresh air and other happy dog lovers with you!
Paso Robles has a lot of dog happy places so here is a condensed list of some we know for sure that let your pup play while you sip!

They not only let your dogs come and play but they offer a beautiful picnic area, award winning wines, a modern and open air tasting room and winery tours.
Four Lanterns Winery – CLICK HERE FOR INFO
Four Lanterns has a big open area with grass, a fire-pit, tables and shady trees. They let your dog come along and offer tastings and new release tastings (if you ask nicely). Bring your picnic and stay awhile, they have so many great wines to choose from and some great areas for your dog to play. While you are there, visit Kenneth Volk right next door! They welcome pups too!
Lone Madrone – CLICK HERE FOR INFO
Lone Madrone often has burgers and music on the weekends starting in the summer, big open spaces and picnic tables in the shade. They have a modern and open air tasting room with not only their wines from “winemaker of the year” but also offer cold and refreshing Bristol’s Hard Cider which is dry and unique.

This winery is on a working ranch where they have grass-fed beef and often are grilling it up for their visitors. There is a big picnic space where you can relax with your pup and a modern and artsy tasting room full of outstanding varietals.

This popular winery is right off of the 46 Highway West and offers a large grass area with a gazebo and white picnic tables. The trees are shady and the quaint tasting room offers great boutique items and some sinful Zins! Your pup will have a blast running though the cool grass while you enjoy a glass!
Poalillo (po-lil-0) – CLICK HERE FOR INFO
This place is brimming with fun for you and your (by now) panting family member. They have a guest house you can stay overnight at, or you can bring your RV and park it for the night. They also offer fresh food daily and a great selection of family made wines! You cannot miss this stop…they often have live music, events and you will need a bite or two by this time, while your pup gets some fresh water and shade.

This unique and quirky downtown wine tasting pit stop is welcome to your dog and to you! They have both Rabbit Ridge wines and BLING sparkling wines to taste as well as a fun boutique fashioned after Alice and Wonderland!
Rangeland Wines – CLICK HERE FOR INFO
Rangeland takes you back out into wine country where your dog can play with the winery dogs out on their working ranch. They breed grass-fed beef and lamb for local meats and wine club, provide grapes for many of the wineries in the area and have their own label that is in many of the fine dining restaurants on the Central Coast. They are sustainable, offer a great picnic area and have winery tours, but be sure to call for an appointment in advance to get your spot!

Rotta is one of the oldest wineries in the area and offer deeply complex wines with a historical tour of the property. Your doggie will love the picnic area and you will love the exclusive wine selection!

If you are looking for a place to take pictures with your precious pup, go to Sculpterra and pose next to one of the big, dramatic sculptures they have out in their gardens! There is a large area for picnics, live music, vine education and they do tours as well! Their wines have collector labels and consist of several unique varietals. If you catch Paul the winemaker behind the bar, make sure to ask him about the process! He shows his passion for the craft and it makes the whole experience much more valuable.

Sextant winery has a nice open tasting room and VIP lounge for their wine club members you and your buddy can relax in. They offer winery tours and maintain sustainable practices with their two locations, in Paso Robles as well as San Luis Obispo, Edna Valley.

When you head over to Shale Oak your dog will love the flowing fountain, the shady patio with cushy lounge chairs and the friendly staff! You will love the different organic and sustainable wines while “ooooing” and “ahhhhing” at the architecture and detail that Shale Oak puts into staying green while still delivering an exquisite wine.
