About Oceano Wines

Meet Rachel Martin, the mastermind behind the growth of Virginia’s Boxwood Estate Winery. Under her wing, Boxwood transformed from a local gem into a globally acclaimed brand with 5,000 cases to its name. And she didn’t stop there; Rachel championed her region to earn the esteemed American Viticultural Area (AVA) status, lifting the reputation of all local wines.

But Rachel’s story doesn’t end in Virginia. She randomly met Kurt Deutsch at a film festival dinner and sparks flew. Fast forward, they’re not just life partners but also business partners at Oceano Wines.

They set their sights on Spanish Springs Vineyard in San Luis Obispo. Spanish Springs is perfectly suited to grow chardonnay and pinot noir, and is located nearly at the western edge of the newly established San Luis Obispo Coast AVA. Spanish Springs is a rarity within it because it is closer to the Pacific Ocean than any other vineyard in this “coastal” appellation.

The vineyard enjoys a daily blanket of cool ocean mist that vanishes by mid-day, allowing the grapes to gently warm up. Come evening, cool breezes keep the grapes from over ripening to the point where sugar levels translate into high-alcohol wine. The unique blend of soils at the site results in Oceano’s signature fresh and balanced chardonnay and pinot noir

Oceano Wines is disrupting the non-alcoholic industry with the first ultra-premium non-alcoholic wine – Oceano Zero.

Oceano Zero sets out to prove that non-alcoholic wines can be created with the same artistic intention as traditional wines and distinguished by the same factors – climate, geology, geography, viticultural practices and winemaking decisions. Like Oceano’s original wines, Oceano Zero will feature single-vineyard, single-vintage ultra-premium wines sourced from the sustainably-certified Spanish Springs Vineyard along the San Luis Obispo Coast.
