Allegretto Vineyard Resort

Pamper your taste buds: You’ll jet set around the world without stepping foot outside Paso when you reserve your table at Cello at Allegretto Vineyard Resort. In addition to offering 171 rooms and suites, an on-site spa and a popular wine tasting room, guests (and non-guests) can enjoy the inspired culinary creations of Cello Ristorante & Bar, Allegretto’s love letter to Northern Italian cuisine. An homage to lavish European stays, this Paso Robles destination pairs worldly ambiance with fresh, local fare, creative cocktails and an extensive wine list.  Serving up fine breakfast, lunch and dinner options (we’re talking about everything from decadent buttermilk walnut pancakes to seasonal gourmet pizzas to pan-seared duck), there is no dress code required, thank goodness. Beyond the Mediterranean-inspired dining room, grand doors open onto a patio featuring iron fire bowls and bocce ball courts. Enjoy Paso’s warm summer evenings or a heated al fresco experience in winter. Kind of makes you want to stay a little longer right? Good thing you totally can!

Villa San Juliette

A meal to remember: The folks at Villa San Juliette grow a dozen wine grape varietals on its epic 130-acre estate vineyard, but have you peeked inside the kitchen lately? Nestled amongst the Cholame Hills in the Paso Robles Estrella District, you’ll find astoundingly decadent dishes paired with the winery’s balanced Bordeaux and Rhone wine offerings. Whether you’re feeling a bit peckish (try the rosemary focaccia bread, baked daily and paired with the chef’s selection of Italian cheeses, meats and marinated veggies) or have a big hunger to tackle (go for the mushroom risotto with grass-fed prime rib-eye) you’ll leave feeling well-fed and fabulous. Trust us: There’s nothing quite like basking on the patio of this Mediterranean-style villa with a glass of grenache in one hand and a spoonful of garlicky seafood stew in the other! Go on, treat yourself.

Riboli Family of San Antonio Winery

Have it your way: Four generations of winemaking excellence can’t be wrong, right? Well, the iconic winery that brought us such stellar brands as San Simeon, Riboli Family Napa Valley and Highlands Forty One also knows a thing or two about crafting moan-inducing meals. The San Antonio Winery’s Eastside Paso Robles tasting room and bistro is churning out top notch Italian eats, including a killer calamari fritti, seared shrimp citrus salad, chicken piccata pasta and even classic entrees like salmon in a lemon butter sauce (don’t forget tiramisu for dessert, too). Dine either indoor or out, and be sure to check out their newly renovated Atrium Dining Room and Cafe Bistro. Plus, the winery’s gift center offers up everything from wine and accessories to upscale gifts, making it a true one-stop-shop on Highway 46 East. Not sure you can make it out to the winery? With an array of mouthwatering pizzas-plus a weekend brunch and family style catering menus to choose from-you can enjoy at the tasting room or have it all delivered directly to your belly courtesy of Grubhub. Now that’s a one-stop solution!

Lone Madrone

Farm fresh feasting: Known for crafting wines that shine with terroir and pure varietal character, it’s no wonder that the folks at Lone Madrone champion farm-to-fork flavor. Pull up a chair at Kitchen Forty Six, the winery’s seasonal solution to post-tasting hunger pangs! With a weekend menu helmed by Chef Jeffrey Scott, you can expect produce procured from an onsite garden as well as local farmer’s markets. Ready to taste spring’s ripest bounty? Hop on Lone Madrone’s Vineyard Luncheon and Tours (the next one is slated for Saturday, April 30). Spend the day with the winemakers as you explore Old Oak Vineyard, home to 40+ year-old zinfandel grapes. Yes, you’ll get to sample wine, too, right there among the vines! Afterward, enjoy a three-course lunch served in a nearby barn (menu items include local lamb, spring veggies, just-picked herbs and rustic bread with charred onion jam). Up next, you’ll tour all the remaining vineyard nooks and crannies with more wine in hand. Could there be a more perfect way to enjoy—and walk off—your next meal? We think not.

Dining Hours: Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dubost Wine

Good thing Dubost keeps it real, sizzling up spectacular wood-fired pizzas each Saturday and Sunday, “weather permitting”—although the forecast around here is usually sunny with a chance of wildflowers. If you’re looking for a true blue Paso Robles meal, look no further than Dubost, where the rural setting is all the ambiance you need to have a great time with friends. Cozy up to a picnic bench or blanket and dig into their tantalizing tasting menu, which includes white and red Weekend Wine Flights paired with pizzas laden with caramelized onions, fresh basil, house made pepperoni, arugula—even earthy beets and a dash of balsamic drizzle! While reservations are always appreciated, walk-ins are welcome around these parts. What can we say? Around here, you’re just one of the Dubost family. Sure feels good to come home.
