We are here! It is Harvest Wine Weekend and we have been posting a series of great places to taste wine, stay in wine country and activities to do here on the Central Coast! This is the last one with two fantastic wineries, Four Lanterns which is brand new and coming out with award winning wines and Harmony Cellars which is on the coast of California by that fresh sea breeze.
Four Lanterns
Located off of 46 West by the 101 Freeway
Four Lanterns is a family owned winery and was named after their four daughters. The beautiful artwork on the labels are original pieces from Steve the owner and his daughter which are all themed around light. This newly opened winery boasts Estate grown Rhone varietals and just started offering tastings this past July. Located in the same area as Kenneth Volk, the winery has extensive picnic areas with tables and trees and a grass area for you to enjoy their events this weekend!

Sausage Pairings with gourmet varieties from local Cookie Crock in Cambria. Enjoy the sizzling, savory samplings with a perfectly paired wine to finish it off.

Harmony Cellars
Located off of Hwy 1 by 46 West
Harmony Cellars has a beautiful outdoor area to sit and enjoy the coastal breeze and is located in the town of Harmony by the beach where little boutiques and wine bars dot the small street. Offering a great variety of reds, whites and rose’, Harmony Cellars does not disappoint when it comes to taste and quality of wine.

Chocolate Pairings with gourmet chocolate confections sampled with Chuck’s fruit forward wines. Satisfy your sweet tooth and your wine fix while enjoying the picnic area outside! $7 per pairing or $6 for Wine Club Members.

Whale Watching
in Morro Bay, CA – 30 minutes from Paso Robles, CA
This is the last month that the Humpback whales come through the Central Coast waters before they migrate to Mexico to mate or give birth in the warmer waters during the winter months. This breathtaking tour offers not only sights of these beautiful whales but often times you get to see dolphins, seals, falcons, herons, sea otters and other beautiful whales that tour our coast. This weekend there is only ONE tour available at 9 am on Sunday. Perfect morning to end your wine tasting weekend! The tour lasts 2.5 – 3.5 hours and reservations are HIGHLY suggested due to the fact they only take 22 people on the open catamaran. Dress in layers and warmly since the cool ocean air can get colder with waves and open sea. Make sure to bring your camera, a drink, a hat and some sunscreen as well even if it is cloudy and enjoy the view!

Kids age 12 and Younger – $30
They also offer sub-sea tours (you can see under water) and kayak rentals if you can’t make it to the whale watching tour! Not far from Harmony Cellars and close to other great wineries such as Chateau Margene on the Embarcadero, Bella Vino wine bar and La Belle Winery all in Morro Bay.
